Paul P. Phillips
After graduation from Law School in 1974, Paul began his legal career as a hearing examiner for the Illinois State Commerce Commission. In January of 1975, he joined the Lake County, Illinois State’s Attorney’s Office where he tried all types of criminal cases including armed robbery, rape and murder cases.
In March of 1979 he joined the Soffietti firm. He was made a partner in 1981. Beginning in 1981 his practice has focused on personal injury litigation. He is the lead attorney on the firm’s injury litigation team. His personal injury practice includes motor vehicle accident cases, wrongful death cases, animal bite cases, assault and battery cases, premises liability cases, aviation accident cases, railroad accident cases, slip and fall cases, property damage cases, defamation and privacy cases, medical malpractice cases and dental malpractice cases. He is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and Illinois Bar Association.
Paul and his wife, Barbara, reside in Lindenhurst, Illinois and have three children and two grandchildren.
Paul has obtained many notable jury verdicts and settlements. His verdicts and settlements include the following:
- $1,250,000.00 for a 72 year old male motorcyclist hit by a car injuring his head, neck and back
- $750,000.00 for an 71 year old male who sustained chest and head injuries in an airline crash
- $650,000.00 for a 42 year old male who suffered lower leg injuries in an automobile accident
- $330,000.00 for an 18 year old female who sustained chest and head injuries as a passenger in an automobile struck by a train.
- $300,000.00 for a 12 year old male who sustained fractured ribs and chest injuries in an automobile accident
- $275,000.00 for a 75 year old female passenger who sustained injuries in an automobile accident
- $235,000 for a 67 year old male who injured his knee in a fall at a shopping mall
- $175,000.00 for an 8 year old female who sustained scalp injuries when bitten by a dog
